THE FINAL WEEK ROUND UP (1/8 - 4/8)

Image
Conducted the diagnostic test on 3/8 and finished Marvellous Travel as well. Truly going to miss the students. The faculty at the school were very kind and bought us some sweets. The students gave their feedbacks in the form of letters. These are letters I will forever cherish.                                It was truly wonderful experience. I think I have collected a lot of lessons from this experience that will be useful in life both as a teacher and an individual. It was also an opportunity to get to know and become a part of the working of a school. It also showed me that I have much that I am yet to learn, But every journey begins somewhere. Hopefully I am treading the right path. I am going to miss both my classes 8C and 8E. I wish all of them the very best.

FEASTS AND TESTS (29/7 - 1/8)

On 29 July the feast day of Bethany sisters were celebrated. We gave a small gift as a token of our love. I completed the poem "From a Railway Carriage", PPT was used effectively so that students could see and understand the imagery in the poem. I conducted the achievement test on 1 August. It was for 25 marks with a time limit of 45 minutes.

SEVENTH WEEK ROUND UP (24/7 - 28/7)

Completed some grammar lesson plans, as well as "A Shipwrecked Sailor". The week was eventful, as it concluded with the sports day. We were all assigned duties and it didn't feel like a chore. Everyone was enjoying and having fun. The energy from the students truly set the mood for the day.  Various events were organised on different categories. I was allotted duty at the high jump venue. It also gave us a glimpse into the organising of events and the work that happens behind the scenes.

Club Inauguration

School Clubs were inaugurated in a function where Shri. Ambrose sir was the chief guest. Headmistress presided the function. Students staged variety of programmes.  Clubs are truly integral part of schooling. It helps students to excel at their interests and also builds a sense of community. Wishing success to all the new clubs at the school !

SIXTH WEEK ROUND UP (19/7 - 22/7)

Image
This week was marked by holidays and exams. We did not get proper classes as the students had their midterm exam the past three days. Hopefully my teaching has helped them write well.  A new experience because of this is invigilation, and being closely associated with the whole exam process. Made me realize the work behind conducting an exam, even if it is just a mid- term exam. It also helped me better understand and predict student behaviour and common errors.  I guess despite thinking nothing much happened this week, it was packed with a lot of lessons.

CLUB INAUGURATION

Image
The Gandhi Darshan Club was inaugurated at the school. This marks the fresh beginning of clubs for the new academic year. The club was inaugurated by Dr. Jacob Pullikan, Gandhian and Director of Gandhi Centre.  Gandhian principles have great value in today's society. It is important that students undestand Gandhian ideals and it's role in the country.

FIFTH WEEK ROUND UP (10/7 - 14/7)

The week was packed. I was able to finish "We're the World" and start "A Shipwrecked Sailor". I also had my second optional observation on 12th. I was able to incorporate current events as part of the entry activity to get students interested in the chapter. "A Shipwrecked Sailor" can drag a little so using ICT and interesting activities could keep the students engaged. Struggled a little with class management at the start of the week, but I think I have tried to reflect and come up with solutions. The classes the rest of the week went well.
